This is one of the most effective link building methods because it’s one of the few ways that you can get a significant amount of traffic along with the SEO benefits. An interesting article targeting a highly searched keyword can sometimes bring in 5 to 10 visitors or more a day to your site.
So how can you maximize your articles effectiveness? First you want to make sure you submit them to the correct place. There’s no point in writing the best article in the world if you submit them to irrelevant directories. There are basically only a few directories that make a difference with SEO and traffic. A couple of these are Ezinearticles and Goarticles. These main directories should be your focus.
So how do you get people to read your articles? Be interesting. Make sure you include a lot of bullet points and numbered lists to break up the writing and make it easier to read the article – similar to writing a sales letter.
Constructing the resource box. Your main goal here should be on the benefits to the reader. It’s a bad idea to write about yourself in the resource box; the reader doesn’t care about you, they want to know what you have to offer. For instance, if the article is about weight loss, you might say something like “learn how to lose 20 pounds in 10 days or less by visiting”
Your article’s title. The most critical part of the article, the title is where you should get the reader’s attention.
Getting others to pick up your article is KEY. This will not only give you more SEO benefits, but if it’s a popular site this can give you a serious influx in traffic. But again, the main strategy to make this happen is to not be boring – this is the key to article marketing.
